Building a fence required you to take a number of different steps to get the job done. It is important not to cut any corners when following these steps as well because the result could be inferior to what you really should have. Following just a few defined steps will result in a wonderful fence addition to your home.
- You are going to start out with the layout of the fence so make sure that what you are deciding on is going to fit with the home.
- Find all the fence corners and mark where they are going to be situated.
- Tie twine or string from post to post to mark the fence layout. This gives you a bit of a road map for building the fence and helps you keep on track with the design.
- With a shovel, make holes for the posts and install them into the ground. Toi make sure it lasts as long as possible, use a treated wood post that will withstand weather longer. Make sure to use the highest quality materials for the posts.
- build the railing between each post so that fencing can be installed.
- Install pickets for the fence. Keep the pipckets away from the ground so they do not get wet and rot. A rot board is a good addition as well.
- Next comes the gate and other design elements. Including you design elements will bring it all together and make it look nice. This also includes painting or staining.
